I'm not a cold weather person, the first few months of the year are a low ebb time for me. Today has been cold and damp and dull, a day for cozy dressing and not, in truth, for looking or feeling very visible. I have been out and about in warm clothes and it is the small items of jewellery, this kid leather and old button brooch
and a pair of gold and coral earings that make me feel visible.
Grey pleated cotton blouse from Gap,
cropped cashmere cardi from Boden,
skirt from Comptoir des Cotonniers,
fleece-lined boots from Clark's.
For Patti's Visible Monday at Not Dead Yet Style.
I think these exquisite finishing touches really do help us feel visible on a gray and chill day. Thanks for sharing the lovely looks with Visible Monday!
ReplyDeleteI'm a great one for comfort dressing, Patti, liking natural fibres and ease of movement but the small additions do make me feel less dull.
DeleteYour latest postings are so interesting about personal style. I love the dramatic outfits of contributers such as Melanie, Tamera and the Style Crone but much as I might like to I cannot echo their panache!
Although cloudy, grey days just make me feel like putting on some warm baggy pants and similar top, it does make me feel better if I dress up. It makes the day brighter to feel good about how you look.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's best to put up a bit of a fight against grim days. (Although sometimes it's good just to go to bed early with a good book!)
DeleteI need to dress for school each day. I must say I so look forward to coming home an slipping into something more comfortable. You always look great!
ReplyDeleteI've been retired for a number of years and have only myself to please, so it is always comfort first. Dressing up occasions are few and far between these days.
DeleteWhat a sweet look!
ReplyDeleteI always think that I end up looking a bit prim, Connie - and just like my mother!
DeleteI recently found your blog and love it! This outfit is lovely and the colors are perfect on you. Can I ask how you care for your cashmere to keep it so beautiful?
ReplyDeleteHello and welcome, Brenda. I always hand wash my cashmere clothes and reshape to dry and they wear very well. I practically live in a Brora cardi throughout the winter months, which is made of Scottish cashmere, and it shows no sign of wear at all, although some other makes have eventually worn out at the elbows! My current favourites are from Boden.
