Baby it's cold outside

So I'm wearing babycord
and keeping tucked up inside.
The babycord dress is a Next preppy for 11 to 12 year olds and was bought for Wee One well over twenty years ago! It makes a cosy overshirt on top of leggings and cardigan and although it's not the smartest outfit going I can't complain about it's durability! It has a couple of handy slant pockets on the bodice. The cowhide belt is from Boden and I wear these boots inside the house as warm slippers.

  1. Durable, for certain! And still very lovely to wear as you've done here - the belt is a perfect accent. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.

    1. I bought the belt this year at a Boden sale to wear with my grey trousers but I've found that it works with other clothes that I wouldn't have expected.

  2. You know the cliché "what goes around comes around". I think you are looking quite stylish. I would have never guessed you didn't just purchase your shirt this past season. It would be perfect to wear to school. Stay warm.

    1. I wouldn't have expected a dress for an 11/12 year old to be coming around this household again! (It had been stored in the attic which we cleared after Christmas prior to having more insulation installed - I could open a shop with the stuff that was stored up there!)

    1. Dear Miss Sparkle, just go for it, gal. If you don't like being lop-sided it doesn't matter - hair grows!

  5. Love the belt on your vintage dress! I wear my Uggs outside as well as in. They are just so comfy and warm.

    1. My boots aren't Uggs. They have rigid soles and I pad about in them in a very flat-footed manner so I just keep them for indoors. But they are deliciously warm.

  6. I browsed through your blog a little bit and found it very beauiful and versatile. Like the first photo of you in the mirror.

    1. Ha, Paula, I assure you that Wee One looked a whole lot more cute wearing this dress at the age of eleven! (Please start blogging again, I miss you.) /:-(

    2. Awwwh, every day (mostly when I am taking a shower :-) all sorts of topics pop up. There is a lot to say ... But I am working like CRAZY for the radio these days, and this is besides the full-time emplyoment I also have. But in April, May and June things will calm down. I would love to blog during the warm season, when we are back at my parent's place, "house-sitting". :-)
It is a shame, I hardly take any photos. I even use the cameras 8GB-SD-Card for recording sounds instead of taking photos. You can tell, it just isn't the right time for the blog.

But I like to keep you update:
I changed my diet to vegan - somehow one thing led to another and here I am, cooking with veggies and grains and beans and my knife became my best friend :-)
In May I will travel around the Crimean penninsula (probably a not so vegan-friendly region). I am so dedicated to learn Russian, but since I don't take the time for homework at home I came up with the plan to go on vacation to Yalta and learn Russian where the Russians/Ukrainians live.
Of course the craving for Scotland grows constantly, once every other year probably is not enough.
And then there is hair! My hairstylist is on vacation right now, he promised me to come back with a new idea for my haircut. It might become even shorter. Right now it's a short bob - the one where the longest hair in front is shorter than your chin-line. That's when I tell my mum I look like 23, once more. ;-)

Your dress reminds me I should stock some babycord, I love babycord and it comes and goes in and out of fashion. Last summer, at GAP in Edinburgh I spotted lots of babycord-trousers. They are neat at any age.

As soon as those audio-files make way I will start taking photos again and one thing will lead to another, hopefully!

Thank you for being loyal to your followers and blogging!

      Warm regards,
      Paula
