Another Monday

I don't know where the last week went. Apart from an outing on Friday to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of former neighbours I have not done anything special. (Do I count shampooing the sitting room carpet? The answer is, no!)
Today I went for a long overdue haircut, so it was yet another day of practical clothing, something that would go in the washing machine on my return home because, no matter how well I am wrapped up in a cape, some itchy bits of hair always manage to escape down the back of my neck.
I wore a favourite black cotton blouse from Gap that I've had for a number of years.  I have worn and washed it so many times that it is starting to be a little less black. The fabric has an embossed pattern and the buttons are hidden under a placket. I am a big fan of Gap blouses as they use lovely fabrics and are well styled. The jeans are from M&S and the cowhide belt, rather threadbare, a hand-me-down from a daughter.
This necklace is very light and easy to wear, and was a present from a daughter. It is, if I recall correctly, a mixture of coal and resin. It also very easy to open and close, which is increasingly important as my fingers become less able to deal with small clasps and pins.

    1. I keep going to the hairdresser's, Connie, thinking that it's time for a change, and then both she and I agree that we quite like it the way it is. And, yes, it has become a bit of a trademark!

    1. Hello Ariane, and thank you for visiting. I've taken a peek at your blog and have made a note to self - must wear more colour!
Hope the job hunt goes well for you. I'm sorry that your mom is too shy to be on your blog because I am interested to know if she has your same love of colour and individual style. (She and I are of an age.)

  3. You have a fantastic signature hair-cut - so perfect for your lovely face. Wonderful basics today, too, with a special necklace. Thanks for sharing it all with Visible Monday.

    1. I hardly know how to respond to such flattering words, Patti! It is always interesting to see what everyone is wearing on your Visible Mondays and some of your regulars impress me so much with their great sense of style (and make me very envious of the amount of sunshine they enjoy!)

  6. Oh, I know what you mean about closing clasps on necklaces. It is so frustrating.

    1. 'Frustrating', yes, that's it exactly, especially trying to put in tiny earings or failing to unclasp a bracelet that you spent forever putting on some hours earlier!

  7. The minute I saw this, Georgia O'Keeffe came to mind. Must be your slim elegance in the dark neutrals and the Southwest references. Seems your daughter inherited your excellent taste!

  8. WOW! Likened to Georgia O'Keefe, now that is really something, Jan! I wear so many clothes that are handed on from my daughters that I wonder what I might look like without their input!
