Invisible Monday!

Patti's Visible Monday is here and I'm feeling pretty invisible; a bit of foolish backward walking led to a fall which resulted in my right arm being put in plaster. I'm right handed - oh to be ambidextrous! I'm now in a splint, which is a considerable improvement, but I'm not feeling or looking like the bright young thing that I sometimes fool myself into believing I still am. So I'm suitably chastened and dressed all in grey, comfortable stuff that is easy to pull on with one hand!
A soft cotton Gap blouse, spotted Boden jumper with buttons down the back. (Don't ask me why!) Cropped grey leggings from Asda and M&s sneakers.
I am NOT GOING OUT.
What I'm really in need of is an injection of vibrant colour.
This dress would be perfect for Christmas. It's only the small (ha ha) matter of the price tag that stops me rushing to make a purchase. It's featured in the December edition of 'Elle' magazine and I love everything about it, the long sleeves, the neat waist and full skirt, everything that is except the £1,518 price tag. It's wool-tulle by Simone Rocha. Absolute fairytale!

For you young things who might not have known who I was blethering on about in my previous post here is a photo of the fabled couple, Jane and Serge, taken in Oxford in the '60's by Jane's brother. Jane is so cool but, sorry Serge, that is not a good look!
Who would have thought that this photo of Jane was taken about half a century ago - ballet flats, crops,  it's timeless.
Hope you're all feeling colourful and visible wherever you are!

  1. So sorry about your fall and injuries! I think you still manage a lovely look. Ah, Jane was nothing but cool (still is). Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.

    1. I always enjoy having a peek at your 'visibles' Patti. I often write a message to you but it fails to print. My computer skills are very basic!

  2. I play that game with myself and pretend that I am still "that girl". Then I wake up. You, however, Rosemary, are beautifully classic and can move and belong in all circles of time. I am so sorry about your arm, but you do look wonderful in your grey outfit. That expensive red dress looks like it was made for you and maybe you can find a seamstress who can copy it for you at a lower price.

    1. Good idea, Maybe, (or perhaps, maybe a good idea!) I shall have a look for some suitable fabric and if I find it I'll get my sewing machine out of retirement.
Apart from the fact that I'm gradually falling to bits (hearing, eyesight, teeth, bones........) part of me is still 'that girl' - ever the optimist!

  3. That's great recovery wear, comfy and stylish, but I hope you'll be able to move to two-hander clothing soon. I'm glad you arm is already well on the mend. I had to look up Jane and Serge - their photos together are very moving. The wool-tulle - I didn't know there was such a thing, and now I want it.

    1. Wool-tulle, how exotic! I want it too, but can I ever afford it? No chance!

    1. 'Zooey' - that's a new word for me. The only Zooey I've ever heard of is 'Franny and Zooey'.

  5. Hope the cast comes off soon! There's nothing out there anyway so stay safe and warm!

    1. Dear Coulda, how kind you are, telling me that I'm missing nothing out there! The cast is off and a splint is on which means that I can now soak luxuriously in the bath without my arm stuck in the air. Oh, joy!

  6. You look lovely, as always - and, Jane Birkin too! Photos from the '60s are often timeless, I think.

    1. I never saw the attraction in Serge - a Russian Parisian with attitude, what a combination!

  7. Eeek, NOOOOOO!!!! I broke my wrist AND sprained/cracked my other wrist 4 years ago (on the last day of term, slipped in the snow, coming out of the Doctor's surgery with antibiotics)and it was hell!!! Luckily, the left one was the broken one!
That girl is beautiful by the way!x

    1. It is SO frustrating, so much to do at this time of year. Stirring the Christmas puddings - no chance!

    1. The purpose of buttons down the back is beyond me. Stylish? I wouldn't know - I can't see them! But the jumper has three-quarter sleeves which I really like as the cuffs are out of the way. Especially practical at the moment while the splint is on.
