Black and white

The family have been and gone and we are still eating the remains of all the Christmas feasting - thank goodness my Dries van Noten pinafore dress doesn't have a waistband! I'm wearing it with a new white blouse from Boden, a present from  Father Christmas.
It has a pin-tucked bib and a neat, shaped cut that is easy to wear.
I'm utterly slobbed out today in footless tights and old ballet flats.
I like the combination of black and white and have quite a number of white shirts. This one, taken on holiday and rather creased, has a nifty detachable placket.
Now you see it
now you don't.
(It's the devil to iron!)

    1. Patti's Visible Monday! :-)

I own a similar blouse, I should really iron it. Those blouses with ruffles are great, especially when they are white!

    2. I'm glad that you are still hosting Visible Monday, Patti, now every other week, as I do enjoy seeing what everyone is wearing!

I seem to iron in as many creases as I'm trying to iron out with the ruffle blouse. Do let me see your ruffled white blouse in the next Visible Monday, Paula!

  3. You do an outstanding "slob" look. If only more people could look like slobs the world would be a better place.
Fantastic new blouse! The devil is testing you with the iron but I know you will conquer him every time - the result is too good to give up on.

    1. Currently the devil is winning. Also, luckily 'tis the weather to be slobbish, tra la la.

  4. Black and white are my favorite colors. Are they officially colors? Great outfit. You always look so chic. Yep. I'll bet that is a bug to iron. And that's coming from someone who LIKES to iron!

  5. Perfect way to spend the remainder of the holidays. Black and white works perfectly ... shows of the colors of any other new pieces you get from Santa! Hope you have a brilliant 2014, and looking forward to seeing what you're up to!

    1. Yes, I don't suppose there is much point in trying to compete with the Christmas tree! Thanks for your good wishes, Jan, I hope that 2014 will be kind to us all.

  6. I love the white blouse - it looks like a Regency gentleman's shirt.

    1. Ah, there you have it, Nilly, a Regency gentleman would have had some poor overworked little soul slaving over a very hot and heavy iron to primp up his lordship's shirt to perfection!
