Cram-in-a-pocket hat

Sissinghurst, water-colour, Rosemary Murphy.
It's still gloriously HOT and everyone is going about under sun hats or brollies. I've got a very practical, faded cotton hat that can be crammed into a pocket and slung on my head when needed.
It pretty much goes with all my summer clothes. Seen here with a Monsoon cotton top, Boden black linen crops (you've seen them before, you'll see them again!) Clarks leather slip-ons
a shopper that came free with a magazine
and a black bead cuff bracelet that I bought from a stall in Spitalfields market. I wear this bracelet a lot and wish that I had bought others. If I ever find the stall again I shall buy a white one.

    1. That hat is a BEST BUY. I've had it years. It's not quite the colour it started out, but now it is so faded that it goes with any and everything and on holidays I'd be lost without it!.

  2. Great hat and you wear it well. I love cuff bracelets and find that they just finish off a nice outfit. I hope you find your white one.

  3. I have a similar simple hat and wear the dickens out of it. You look terrific in the hot sun - thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.

    1. I LOVE the hot sun, Patti - many of my friends are complaining about it but we get so little chance to bask in it in Britain

    1. A very late reply to these kind comments, Bonnie, as I'm having problems with my computer (after a very expensive service!) It keeps losing connection.

  5. Ah. These are the best kind of hats. So cute and a bit of a 20's vibe.

    1. I wore it to a '40's do with a bunch of artificial cherries pinned to one side, so it's proving rather versatile!

  6. Yup. Adds some pretty contrasting texture to your pinks, as well. Sweet and flapperish little cloche. Do you turn up half the brim, sometimes?

    1. No, I just cram it on with the brim down to keep the sun out of my eyes. But now that you've mentioned it, Jan, I might give it a whirl!

    1. I've mentioned the pink ring in earlier posts, Jean. I bought it in Turkey and the maker said that the stone was 'Lal', which I've been told is a form of quartz, although I've no idea if that is actually the case.
